At Pilotalk, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our students and users. Because our platform utilizes hyper-realistic AI Avatars and voice-recognition technology, this policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal and aeronautical training data.

 

  1. DATA COLLECTION: WHAT WE COLLECT

To provide a personalized and fluid conversational experience, Pilotalk collects the following:

  • Identity Data: Name, email address, and pilot license type (for profile customization).
  • Voice & Audio Data: Audio recordings of your conversations with the Avatar. This is essential for the AI to analyze your fluency, pronunciation, and ICAO level.
  • Interaction Logs: Transcripts of your dialogues, exam results, and progress through the Pilotalk modules.
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, and device information used to access the HeyGen-powered interface.
  1. USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (HeyGen & LLMs)

Our platform utilizes third-party AI technologies (including HeyGen for video/avatar generation and Large Language Models for aeronautical logic).

  • Processing: Your voice data is processed in real-time to generate Avatar responses.
  • Training: We may use anonymized transcripts to improve the Avatar’s understanding of specific aeronautical accents and technical phraseology.
  • No Deepfakes: We do not use your data to create “deepfake” versions of you or any other individual.
  1. INTERNATIONAL COMPLIANCE (GDPR & LEY 1581)

Pilotalk adheres to the highest global standards for data protection:

  • European Union (GDPR): If you are located in the EU, you have the right to “Data Portability,” the “Right to be Forgotten” (deletion of your data), and the right to withdraw consent for voice processing at any time.
  • Colombia (Habeas Data): In compliance with Law 1581 of 2012, users in Colombia can update, rectify, or suppress their information by contacting our Data Officer.
  • United States: We follow industry standards for data encryption and secure storage.
  1. DATA STORAGE & SECURITY
  • Security: We implement SSL encryption and secure cloud storage to prevent unauthorized access to your “Flight Logs” and recordings.
  • Retention: We retain your conversation history as long as your subscription is active. If you cancel your account, your data will be archived for 12 months before permanent deletion, unless you request immediate removal.
  1. THIRD-PARTY SHARING

Pilotalk does not sell your personal data to third parties. We only share data with service providers necessary for operation, such as:

  • AI Infrastructure providers (e.g., HeyGen, OpenAI, or similar).
  • Secure payment processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal).
  • Cloud storage providers (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
